Registration & Entries

How do I enter? All entries are handled securely through Entry Ninja. You can secure your spot by visiting the Official Entry Link.

Are E-bikes allowed? Yes! We welcome E-bike riders in the MTB and Gravel categories. However, please note that E-bikes are not eligible for podium prizes or trophies, as they compete in a non-competitive adventure category.

Cancellations & Refunds

We understand that plans can change. Our refund policy is structured as follows:

More than 4 months before the race: 75% refund.
More than 2 months before the race: 50% refund.
Less than 2 months before the race: 0% refund.

Important Notes:

Transfers: Entries are not transferable to the following year.
Rider Changes: You may transfer your entry to another person. Please contact us to process the name change.
COVID-19 Policy: Should the event be canceled or postponed due to COVID-19 regulations, your entry fee will be transferred in full to the next edition of the race.

MTB Handicap System for Trans Augrabies Stage Race

Timing & Results

How does the Handicap Time Keeping system work? To ensure a fair and inclusive racing environment, the Trans Augrabies uses a specialized handicap system. This allows riders of different ages and genders to compete against one another on a level playing field.

The Goal: The system adjusts finishing times based on established performance factors for various age categories.
The Benefit: This means that an older veteran or a younger junior rider can compete for the overall "Handicap" honors against elite-level riders.
The Results: We provide both "Scratch" results (your actual time spent on the bike) and "Handicap" results (your adjusted time).

Are E-Bikes included in the Handicap system? No. As E-Bikes are in a non-competitive category and are ineligible for podium prizes, they are not factored into the Handicap standings.

Logistics & Services

Is accommodation included in my entry? No. All accommodation must be booked separately. We recommend booking your chalets or campsites directly through the SANParks website for the Augrabies Falls National Park or exploring local lodges in the area.

How do I book massages or mechanical support? These services (Physio, Sports Massage, and Bike Mechanic packages) are available as Optional Extras during your Entry Ninja registration process. We highly recommend booking these in advance as on-site capacity is limited.

What about meals? While we provide legendary water points and a morning "Fuel Station," main meals are not included. You can add the Tannie Keppies Meal Package to your entry to enjoy communal dining with the rest of the athletes in the Race Village.

On the Route

Is the route marked? Yes, all routes (MTB, MTB Mini, Gravel, and Trail Run) are clearly marked with event-specific signage. Each event has its own dedicated colour. GPS files available for download from the individual event overview pages.

What happens if I have a mechanical or medical issue? We have professional medical teams and sweep vehicles stationed along the route. For minor mechanicals, we have a support team available, but riders are expected to carry basic repair kits for their discipline.
